When Michelle's family, friends, co-workers (aka extended family), and clients from the salon heard about Michelle's diagnosis of cancer the question everyone seemed to ask was...how can I help?
Michelle's cousin Heather worked with Bridgetown Society (Portland, OR based non-profit organization) to set up a charity in Michelle's name, so people could easily donate on line or send money.
Roberts of Portland the salon Michelle worked at as a stylist for many years threw a benefit in May of 2010 to help raise money to take care of some of the costs. As Heather said, "we want Michelle to concentrate on her health not her wealth".
The result of this benefit was a wonderful party that included a photo booth, silent auction, wonderful food, drinks, and fabulous company. It was a memorable night for one of the most memorable people in our lives.
